Sunday -Welcome to the ship (L, D)
Amazon Cruise
Morning transfer to the boat; receive an  orientation and your cabin assignment.
While sailing down the Amazon River you will be able to see the beautiful landscapes surrounding this great river. Afternoon stop at Yanamono to visit sugar cane rum still and sample the drinks and molasses made there.
PM: Observe the stars from the top deck while enjoying a drink.

Monday - Visiting the Locals (B, L, D)

After breakfast, set out in one of the excursion boats for a bird watching trip on the Ampiyacu River. Afterwards, visit a Bora/ Huitoto Indian village and observe their traditional dances. Sail to the town of Pevas, the oldest European settlement on the Peruvian Amazon. After lunch, hike through the jungle observing plants. Later, board a small boat to look for caiman

Tuesday - Exploring the Jungle (B, L, D)

In the morning take a walk in the jungle to visit the small village of Paranaquiro and see how the local people live in harmony with the rain forest. After this, there will be a piranha fishing expedition and, after dinner, an excursion by boat to spot caiman and other nocturnal wildlife while listening to the sounds of the rainforest

Wednesday - Crossing Borders (B, L, D)
Amazon Cruise
Early morning, we’ll arrive at Santa Rosa Island where the borders of Peru / Colombia / Brazil meet. Cross the river by small boat to visit the towns of Leticia, Colombia and Tabatinga, Brazil, two very colorful towns with many shops selling souvenirs and, in Leticia, Colombian emeralds.
Passengers taking only the down river portion of the cruise will be transferred to the airport or to their hotel

Thursday- The Plants and Birds of Chimbote (B, L, D)
Amazon Cruise
Early morning bird watching trip followed by a jungle walk near the village of Chimbote. Late morning, visit the small missionary town of San Pablo. 
Optional: visit to the Leper hospital run by French-Canadian nuns and see the handicrafts made by the inhabitants. After dinner take a night excursion on the Peruate River to look for caiman and night animals

Friday- Visiting the Yaguas (B, L, D)
Amazon Cruise
Morning visit to a village of Yagua Indians to observe their native dress, traditional dances and handicrafts. You will have the opportunity to buy/trade for craft items.  Return to ship for lunch and a siesta. Late afternoon shore excursion on the black-water Apayacu River to see the flora and fauna of the area and possibly fish for piranha

Saturday- Returning to Iquitos (B)
Amazon Cruise
Early in the morning, arrive back in Iquitos. Transfer to the airport or your hotel. Iquitos is a unique and interesting city to visit. There are guided tours of the city available, during which one may learn of the history of this rubber boom town. You can also visit the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm and the Amazon Animal Orphanage
